Bishop J. Malcolm Fulton is the son of Claude and Ruth Fulton. He was born in Washington, DC where he graduated from Spingarn Sr. High School. Soon after graduating he met and married Shelia (Harris) of Durham, NC. To this godly union were born three loving and intelligent children Elisha, Stephen, and Octavia.
Bishop and Lady Fulton both accepted Jesus Christ as teenagers and were baptized at Bibleway Temple in Washington, DC. Bishop later joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as a field radio operator, jet engine mechanic, and a parachutist.
Lady Fulton graduated from TC Williams High School in Alexandrea, VA. After Bishop Fulton transitioned from the Marine Corps, he and his family returned to Durham, NC where Lady Fulton attended and graduated from Rutledge Community College with an Associated Degree in Medical Office Transcription. Bishop Fulton following his wife’s example attended and graduated from North Carolina Central University and later Miami University in Ohio, graduating from both institutions with the highest honors.
Lady Fulton went on to work in the medical field as nursing assistant and dialysis technician and in the public school system as an educator for over 30 years. Bishop Fulton after being awarded a Master of Science Degree in School Psychology worked as a school psychologist in the public school system for over 25 years.
They have been consistently active in the churches and communities where they have served, participating in and leading variety of church ministries as well as ministering in nursing homes, hospitals, prisons, drug addiction programs, and juvenile detention centers to name a few. They are loving, caring, and compassionate couple committed to doing God’s will wherever they may be found. The guiding principle for their lives is to “…write the vision and make it plain…” Habakkuk 2:2
