Church History

The vision of the W.O.R.D. Ministries, Inc. was conceived “at the table” of Jesse and Laura Williams where Elder Fulton and his family spent many hours discussing the word of God late into the night.  It was after these discussions that God placed into the heart of Elder Fulton to return to Waldorf, MD to teach and preach the word of God.  After much prayer, fasting and discussion with his wife Elder Fulton confirmed the vision and submitted to the call of God.  Elder Fulton then resigned from his job, packed what he could into the trunk of his car and returned to the DC area where he moved into the basement of Jesse and Laura Williams ending a 30-year absence from the DC metropolitan area where he was born and reared. Soon thereafter on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 the W.O.R.D. Ministries was birthed in the basement of Kevin and Michelle Dorsey where it remained until August of 2007.

Through the preaching of the Word and the moving of the Spirit of God the ministry began to bear fruit with many people accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  In August of 2007, the church had grown to the point that God directed Pastor Fulton to seek a larger space in which to offer worship.  Sister Fulton, being led by the Spirit of God, located a building at 80 Industrial Park Dr. in Waldorf, Maryland.  A deal was struck and The W.O.R.D. Ministries moved into suite 1A where God nurtured this fledgling ministry and it continued to grow.  The ministry grew strong and soon expanded to occupy the entire ground floor of the building.   By divine direction God has moved us to a new location where we continue to make technological advances as we expand our impact through our online presence.  As times change and ministries evolve we have continued to grow through the grace of God in ways we have never imagined.  We look forward to seeing what God will do through us in this present age.
